Create a website For Your New Business
To create a website can be quite a challenge, but it's worth the effort. If you do it right, you can expand your base of customers, and increase your profits. There are some things, however, that you'll need to consider when you want to make your website. Take note of the following tips:
1.What is your objective for having a website? Listing your objectives will let you (or your programmer) know what functions are best suited for your site. What do you intend your site to do for your business? Is it a simple FAQ about your company? Or will it be more complicated, where your customers can make orders, transact online, or give you customer feedback?
2.Don't put all of your information up front. Some people might still think of websites the way they think of space in a newspaper ad: they paid for the space, so they want to put as much information in it as possible to make their investment worthwhile. Remember that most Net users have a short attention span. Put only the most important information on your front page, and divide the rest into chunks that your client can process, one at a time. If everything is well-presented and displayed with the client's comfort in mind, those big ugly text-filled pages shouldn't end up in your site.
So to create a website that'll be effective, keep your layout clean, and simple. Avoid long blocks of text, especially text that will require your user to scroll down. You want them to see only the most important information, and then if they want to know more, give them other pages they can look at for further information. If your client wants information about your services, make a separate section for that.
3.Readability is the key. To make your website easy to view, avoid using very bright colors as a background, or big fonts in several colors. Being loud, visually, only annoys many users, and gives them a bad first impression when they enter your site. Use a classy, limited color palette, and be consistent with your fonts and sizes. Reading words on a monitor is enough eyestrain, even without websites that are visually screaming at you.
4.Lastly, keep your site up-to-date. You don't want your potential customer to come into your site and see old news- you want them to leave with the impression that your business is dynamic, and modern. For this reason, you may want to look into content management systems when you create a website. If you want to make a site that will just have your basic company info and contact details, then a simple, static website will suffice.
If you want to create a website for your business, here are a few tips: be clear on what you want your site to do. This is help you determine the functions and content for your site. Then organize that content into links and don't put too much information in one page- too much information all at once can cause users to tune out and just move on to another site.
